Different seasons in New Zealand

In New Zealand, we have 4 different seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring.

Springtime is about new beginnings. It's when  trees and plants come back to life with  new leaves and beautiful flowers in their natural environment.  Flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow well during springtime. Spring starts in September to November.
The summer months in New Zealand are December, January, and February. Summer is the warmest time of the year in New Zealand, and summer is an excellent time for walking in the bush and a variety of other outdoor activities in parks and beaches.
Autumn is the third  season of the year.  The weather turn cooler and is often windy and rainy. In autumn the leaves of trees turn into different colours like red, yellow and brown. After a while, the leaves fall to the ground or blown off the tree by the wind.

Winter is the fourth season of the year. Winter is  the coldest season of the year, and it’s   happening in New Zealand  between June to August. Trees and plants stop growing in the winter because it’s very cold and it snows in some parts of New Zealand especially in the South Island.

These four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter are a part of the weather in New Zealand  and we adjust and adapt to it for survival. Some people may say that they don’t like warm or hot weather while some say they do.  Some people say, they don’t like winter because it’s very cold but some people say they do. We cannot do anything about the New Zealand weather but what we can do is live with it and dress appropriately for the weather.
